Regularly named to magazines’ “Best Small Cities” lists, Beaufort is building on 300 years of chartered history to create an exciting and prosperous fourth century.

Beaufort is located on the Atlantic Coast midway between Savannah, GA and Charleston SC. Downtown Beaufort is tucked into narrow interlocking streets and adorned by natural foliage and centuries-old, moss-draped live oak trees, this area is one of the focal points of the city's historic district, and is best viewed with a professional guide, either walking, by horse-drawn carriage, or touring van. Additionally, fine homes from the Civil War era can be found in the eastern portion of town, many with unrivaled water views.

The mild climate features snowfall about once every 20 years … and beach weather nine months out of the year. Moss-draped live oaks and jewel-green marsh grass accent the ribbons of rivers, creeks and waterways that wind through the coast to the sea. Year-round fishing is some of the best in the country, and children enjoy catching blue crabs from docks and river edges. Offshore and Gulf Stream fishing bring new challenges with sailfish, mahi-mahi, wahoo and grouper.

Sound appealing? The Beaufort area is the perfect place to raise a family, to start or grow a business, or to relocate for a better quality of life and a better quality of business.
